Recently, US President Donald Trump has called for an update and renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), a 23-year-old trade agreement between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. From the beginning, NAFTA has had its fair share of both critics and champions. However, predictions from both sides failed to materialize, and NAFTA’s lowering of tariffs and restrictions has actually led to widespread integration of industries across the three nations.
