For two and a half days, the Colloquium for Women of Indiana University provides opportunities for women to engage in and familiarize themselves with educational programs and facilities at IU Bloomington by introducing them to distinguished faculty, alumnae, students, and speakers of national and international renown.
Keynote speaker, Tan Kheng Hua, is a well-known and respected award-winning actress and producer from Singapore. Kheng has most recently been seen in the Warner Brothers movie adaptation of Singapore-born Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel, Crazy Rich Asians, where she played, “Kerry Chu”, the mother of protagonist “Rachel Chu”, played by Constance Wu. Kheng can also be seen in the Netflix original series, Marco Polo, playing the Empress Dowager.
Her upcoming projects include the HBO Asia/Astro Shaw movie, The Garden of Evening Mists which has garnered 9 Taipei Golden Horse Award nominations and will be coming soon to a cinema near you in 2020. Kheng currently splits her time between Singapore, the United States, and anywhere else good work brings her. She is a proud graduate of the 1986 class of Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
