The first step is to access the Kaltura MediaSpace webpage. Enter the URL HTTPS://IU.MEDIASPACE.KALTURA.COM into your web browser. Once you reach the homepage, login to your account with your IU login credentials.
After you have successfully logged in, go to the “Add New” menu. Select the option that says “YouTube”. You will then be redirected to a page where you can paste the YouTube video’s page link or content ID. Please note that when you are selecting your YouTube videos to link, the YouTube video must be public for it be shared on MediaSpace.
Once you have pasted the necessary information, hit “preview”. This will load the video you have selected in the right hand side of the screen.
After previewing your content, you may begin to fill in the metadata below. Be sure to give your video a name and a description. If the video you have linked already has a title and description on YouTube, it will automatically load into the appropriate boxes. You may edit this pre-loaded text as much as you like. Additionally, you can add tags to your video to make the content easier to search throughout MediaSpace.
Before saving your video, you will need to select the appropriate publishing setting. You have three options for publishing your content: Private, Unlisted and Published. Private content will only be visible to the content owner only. If you make your video “unlisted”, only those with a link to the video page can see the content. If you want the video to be universally accessible, you must select the “published” option.
Once you are done, hit “save”. Your video will be saved to your account. If you wish to see your upload after you have saved, click “go to media”, which is located to the right of the red save button. You will be redirected to a page where your video now lives.
From there, you can share your video by using the “share” button located next to the “details” tab. On this page, you also can explore the actions tab. Under “Actions”, you are able to edit the publishing settings, track video analytics, edit the metadata or delete the video altogether. We will go over the specifics regarding editing your videos in another video.
