The Caucasus has long been one of the most turbulent regions in Eurasia. The development of Islam and nationalism took different turns in each of the post-Soviet country in the region, including Russia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. This presentation will investigate the roots causes of the complex developments in the Caucasus and the impact that this region is likely to have on regional and International politics in the near future.
