This talk examines the global vision of high-ranking Russian Orthodox clergy during Putin's second presidency (2012-present). It principally focuses on the ways in which Patriarch Kirill (Gundiaev) and Metropolitan Ilarion (Alfeev) understand and articulate Russia's role in international affairs, especially in Syria, Europe, and Russia's so-called near abroad.
