In collaboration with both the Innovation and Commercialization Office and the Office of the Vice President & General Counsel [3], UITS has developed guidelines and procedures for publishing IU-developed source code repositories under an open source license. Right now this program is only available to those within UITS, but we would love to hear from other IT Pros about the value of making it available more broadly.
In this recording, viewers can learn about the many benefits of developing and releasing open source software, as well as the UITS process for publishing IU-developed source code under an open source license on GitHub. In addition to sharing the background and details of this initiative, staff from multiple teams within UITS discussing the open source projects that they have been working on and why they decided to pursue open source licensing. This will include a discussion about the recent open-sourcing of Rivet.
