Kaltura MediaSpace 02: Uploading a New Video!
From ksbmedia Media on November 17th, 2016
The first thing you will need to do is to enter the URL HTTPS://IU.MEDIASPACE.KALTURA.COM into your web browser. Use the login function in the upper right corner of the homepage to gain access to your account.
Once you have successfully logged in, click the “Add New” button that appears to the left of where your name is. Upon clicking that menu, a list of options will appear below.
Select the top option that says “Media Upload”. You will be redirected to a page where a red box will appear that says “Choose a file to upload”. Remember when you are trying to upload videos, you need to adhere to the audio and image formats and resolution required for MediaSpace. To achieve the best results possible with your video files, keep your uploads in 1280x720 pixels. You will also want to use the H.264 video codec at about 4000 kb/s.
Click the red button and a window will pop up that allows you to search for and select your video file from your local hard drive. Once you have selected your file, your video will begin to upload. Once the video is done uploading, you will need to fill out the metadata. Start by adding a title to your upload. From there you can add a description to your video to describe the content. Adding tags is another option and a great way to help give your content more searchability.
Finally, you will need to choose how your media upload will be published. The three options you have are to list your media upload as private, unlisted or published. Private content will be viewable only by the content owner. Unlisting your content means only those with the link to the video can see it. A published video means the media uploaded will be accessible across the platform.
After choosing your preferred listing, click the red “save” button. This will finalize your options. If you have another upload you would like to make, there will be an option at the end of the page that says “upload another file”.
