Hal Kirkwood is the current Bodleian Business Librarian in the Sainsbury Library at the Said Business School, University of Oxford, since 2018. Previously, he spent 20 years as Associate Prof. of Library Science in the Roland G. Parrish Library of Management & Economics at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. Hal served as President of the Special Libraries Association in 2019. Currently, he is the regional coordinator for the UK & Ireland division of the European Business School Libraries Group. He has written numerous articles for publications such as Business Information Review, Library Journal, Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship, and many others. Hal edited the 4th edition of Strauss’s Handbook of Business Information and is currently working with a small team to write an international business information handbook. He has been recognized with the 2023 BRASS Excellence in Business Librarianship Award, 2022 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Business Librarianship from the SLA Business & Finance Division, and was the first librarian inducted into Purdue University’s Book of Great Teachers in 2013.
