Office 365 is a subscription based service that provides multiple options for accessing the newest versions of Microsoft Office. Office 365 includes Office 2016 for Windows, OS X, cloud based office online apps, and mobile apps for your smartphone or tablet. The service is free to all IU students, faculty and staff. You can install it on up to five PCs or Macs, five tablets, Windows, iPad, and Android, and five phones. The subscription entitles you to use the software as long as you have an active IU computing account. Unlike a perpetual license, you are not entitled to use this software after you leave IU.
At IU, one drive for business offers one terabyte of storage where you can store, share and sync your personal files. One drive for business storage is approved for institutional data classified as public or university internal.
SharePoint Online is a collaboration website that includes file sharing and many other services. University departments can have SharePoint Online sites free of charge. Email questions to office@iu.edu for assistance.
