This presentation first overviews the key concepts behind a trauma-informed approach to nutrition security. Then, we consider tensions within food security initiatives - are they designed to provide repair and healing, or might they unintentionally perpetuate intergenerational trauma? Participants will leave with helpful questions to consider when designing any community-centered program through the lens of trauma and resilience.
