The Back Home in Indiana Alliance is pleased to announce a webinar:
Affordable Rental Housing: Using the Indiana Housing Choice Voucher Program for People with Disabilities
Held On
Wednesday, March 21, 20181:30 PM – 3:30 PM (EST)
Persons with disabilities and their families may not realize that they may be eligible for affordable housing courtesy of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). For a person with a disability struggling to make ends meet, housing vouchers can relieve a huge financial burden. For persons using the Money Follows the Person program to move out of a nursing facility, a housing voucher can make it affordable to return to life in the community in a place one chooses to live.
This training will include:
A general overview of the Housing Choice Voucher Program for people with disabilities.
A detailed description of the application process and what you can expect.
A description of what happens when an applicant wants to live in an Indiana county or town that is not in IHCDA’s jurisdiction.
An overview of the process for requesting fair housing reasonable accommodations modifications for people with disabilities.
An overview of the process for requesting fair housing accessibility modifications from landlords.
