11/03/17 Natural Resource Governance Speaker Series - Ken Richards: Carbon Taxes in Theory and Practice— Experience from around the World

Following nearly three decades of experience with carbon taxes, interest in this policy tool has spiked following the 2015 Paris Agreement. But carbon tax design can be complex. To help, the World Bank commissioned a team from SPEA and the Gnarly Tree Sustainability Institute to develop the Carbon Tax Guide: A Handbook for Policy Makers (https://openknowledge.worldbank.org/handle/10986/26300). Drawing on case studies and theory for this roundtable, Richards will explore and invite discussion of the many design issues that go along with adoption of this powerful climate policy tool.
