The Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention and the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington sponsored a public panel discussion on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2015 concerning the recent HIV outbreak in rural Southern Indiana. The panel of experts from the U. S. Centers for Disease Control, Indiana State Department of Health, RCAP, Positive Link in Bloomington, and the Scott County Health Department discussed how the outbreak occurred, what challenges their organization faced in attempt to half the outbreak, and what lessons were learned to guide future public health HIV prevention programs in rural areas. Over 100 persons attended the event on the IU campus in Bloomington.
