The metadata to your video includes the title, video description and tags. These details help your viewers understand the purpose of your content. Viewers are also able to search for your content more efficiently. Having complete and detailed metadata helps set your content apart on MediaSpace. Let’s get started!
INPUTTING YOUR METADATA
To begin, it is important to note that there are two ways to input your video’s metadata. The first is during the media upload process. As your video uploads to your MediaSpace account, you can fill out all the assorted details before you leave that page.
After uploading your media content, you are able to make additional edits to your metadata as needed. For this video, I will show you how to edit the metadata after a media upload has already been completed.
You will start by going to the URL https://iu.mediaspace.kaltura.com and logging into your account by using the login function in the upper right corner of the webpage. After logging in, click where your name appears and select “my media” from the drop down menu.
On your media page, select the video you want to edit. Once you are on that video’s specific page, look underneath the video for the “actions” tab. Select the “actions” tab and then from the drop-down menu, select the option that says “edit”.
This will take you to the editing interface. Under the main tab that says “details”, give your video a name that clearly describes the content and purpose. It is also important to give your video a description. You can use the textbox to further describe what your video is about in greater detail. Lastly, you can add tags to your video. Tags make your video easier to search and locate.
Once you are done making changes, be sure to hit the “save” button located right below the tag section.
