This presentation discusses the current state of domestic politics in Turkey with particular regard to moderate Islamist and secular movements and modes of political thought. Dr. Hakan Yavuz (PhD, University of Wisconsin – Madison 1998) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. He is a specialist in Turkish ethnic nationalism and contemporary religious movements.
