The following is a lecture by Dr. Kaya Sahin, an assistant professor in the Dept of History at Tulane University. His talk is entitled “How to read Celalzade’s Histories: Narrative, Ideology, and Historiography”. This lecture was part of the Symposium on Ottoman Historiography, “Editing the Past, Fashioning the Future,” on October 20th, 2009.
