Herron School of Art + Design recently hosted a captivating event featuring Butch Anthony, renowned artist and creator of "Intertwangleism." The evening began with a screening of Chasing Butterflies, a documentary that delves into Butch's unique artistic process, his inspiration drawn from nature, and his use of found objects, particularly bones, in his work.
Following the screening, Butch engaged the audience in a lively 15-minute Q&A session, where he shared insights about his creative journey, the influence of his Southern upbringing, and the significance of his drive-through Museum of Wonder. Audience members asked about his unusual materials and artistic techniques, leading to humorous and enlightening stories from the artist. The night concluded with attendees exploring Butch's exhibit in the gallery, gaining a deeper appreciation of his work.

Butch Anthony: Art, Nature, and Intertwangleism explores the prolific career of artist Butch Anthony, a contemporary, self-taught artist with a keen eye for assembling objects and art in unique compositions. Telling the stories of a rural American way of life, this exhibition includes layered installations that showcase the artist's interest in fine art and design and showcase his habit of collecting objects found in nature, like bones, insects, shells, and other artifacts.
