Freshman Induction Ceremony 2011
August 24, 2011
Near-record numbers of freshmen are arriving on Indiana University's Bloomington campus this week. Many of them and their parents have taken time out from a variety of Welcome Week activities to attend the annual Freshman Induction Ceremony, a celebration of academic aspiration and success.
Like all great universities, IU conducts ceremonies such as this with fanfare and pageantry including remarks by President Michael McRobbie and Provost Karen Hanson. First year students are invited to repeat the Indiana Promise and receive a keepsake IU pin.
