Dr. Hideko Tamura-Snider, BCD, ACSW, was a child survivor of Hiroshima bombing and is a founder of One Sunny Day Initiatives. She obtained her education at Bennett College (NC), The College of Wooster (OH), the University of Chicago and McCormick Theological Seminary (IL). She has authored books and articles on the consequences of nuclear war and sowing peace. She has spent most of her adult life in service: child welfare, adult psychiatry, and 15 years in Radiation Oncology at the University of Chicago Hospitals. She will be presenting her story of survival, the effects on her subsequent life, and current reflections on loss, resilience, reconciliation, hope and peace.
