Keynote Lecture by Dr. David Haas
Dr. Haas is the Robert A. Munsick Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Originally, from St. Louis, Dr. Haas completed his OB/GYN Residency in the U.S. Navy in San Diego. After practicing for 4 years in North Carolina, he came to IU in 2005 and has built the OBGYN Department obstetric research program. He is deeply involved all three missions of IU School of Medicine: clinical service, teaching, and research.
Dr. Haas began working with Evansville in Spring 2019, soon after the opening of the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences. As part of the IU Grand Challenge Precision Health Initiative, his team launched the Hoosier Moms Cohort, a statewide study to understand gestational diabetes. In this talk, Dr. Haas describes his work, as well as his collaboration with the Women's Hospital in Evansville, to develop truly statewide research and improve health for women.
