Global engagement is one of the hallmarks of a great university. Indiana University is proud of its long history of international activity and committed to offering all of our students an education enriched by diverse perspectives, cultures, and languages. The large community of international students who come to IU, and the large community of IU students who study abroad, are central to that experience.
With the Stephen L. and Connie J. Ferguson International Center at IU Bloomington we embark on bringing these communities closer together. This building will house the offices and programs that provide services and support to these communities, creating exciting new opportunities for interaction and collaboration among our students. Conveniently located near the Global and International Studies Building, the Ferguson International Center will be the heart of international programming and student activities on campus. It will also serve as a venue for hosting foreign academic and government delegations, highlighting our standing as one of the country’s most globally engaged universities. The 40,000-square-foot, four-story building will include meeting and other function spaces for internationally focused student organizations and administrative spaces for units supporting international engagement, such as IU’s Global Gateways, international partnerships, and alumni services.
