The Journey: Navigating the Ph.D. and Beyond

In this panel discussion, organized by the IU Europe Gateway, professors David Audretsch (O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, IU Bloomington) and Johan Wiklund (Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University) met with young scholars Ann-Christin Grözinger (University of Siegen, currently Fulbright grantee at IU’s O’Neill School), Ronja Kirschning (ESCP Business School) and Jonah Otto (University of Augsburg) to explore the multifaceted journey of pursuing a Ph.D. in Europe and North America.

Based on their own experiences, they identified strategies and perspectives for leveraging early-stage career impediments into opportunities by sharing their personal approaches to networking, establishing a research question, academic writing or postdoctoral employment.
