This lecture defines government information and its characteristics. It review access to government information via the official U.S. Web Portal, USA.gov, and other federal web portals. It includes a brief introduction to Title 44 of the United States Code 'Public Printing and Documents,' and also the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) and its digital services that provide permanent public access to electronic federal information.
