For the third and final session to our three-part series on developing U.S.-Cuba relations, Dr. Treto, currently an adviser at New Cuba Consulting, gives us his take on how the U.S. and Cuba can leave the Cold War past behind and work together to build a mutually-beneficial and cooperative relationship. Dr.
Treto holds a doctorate in historical sciences from the University of Havana,
and has taught at the Center for Hemispheric and United States
Studies at the University of Havana. Prior to his academic position, he was a
diplomatic service officer with the Cuban Foreign Ministry for more than three
decades, serving in various international posts from Europe, Latin America, to
Africa.
