Walk around any college campus and you will find open spaces, sidewalks, and outdoor seating for studying or dining. But what if outdoor classrooms were also part of the campus landscape? Since early in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mosaic Initiative at IU has been exploring this idea. In this session, you'll learn about recent trends in outdoor learning spaces, recent efforts at IU to create outdoor spaces, and new possibilities and challenges associated with informal and formal outdoor learning spaces.
