What’s wrong with me? Diversity and discrimination in physics
Why are sexism, homophobia, racism and classicism still so prevalent in physics? I start from my personal experience to demonstrate that in fact the personal is political. I examine the root causes for it and suggest a series of easily applicable measures that could greatly improve the situation. These measures would benefit all scientists, regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, class, physical ability or religion. More diversity would benefit science by increasing the creativity potential, a key ingredient to scientific research. If you are white and/or male and think these issues do not concern you, come and find out how you can be part of the solution instead of contributing to the problem.
