Abstract:
“Microhistories, Comic
Making, and Tshusick’s Journey to Washington D.C.”
Dr. Carroll’s research
explores forgotten, obscured, or silenced people, places, things, or ideas to
tell compelling and/or complicating stories about the North American past. His
sabbatical project explored an Ojibwe woman named Tshusick, her journey to
Washington D.C. in the 1820s, and why her story matters today.
Biography:
Dr. Justin M. Carroll is Chair
of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies, and Associate Professor of
History. He is a father and historian, and was born in Lima, Ohio.
