With Myanmar recently coming out of a period of almost "international hibernation", the country is currently experiencing an exciting period of global engagement amidst a rapidly changing business environment. Entrepreneurship plays a key role in the new Myanmar, oftentimes taking shape in ways unfamiliar to Western scholars and businesses. Purpose-driven, need-based entrepreneurship is opening new opportunities and avenues every day, especially for the country's growing number of female entrepreneurs.
