Rockefeller’s Dr. Rajiv Shah - Big Bets: How Large-Scale Change Really Happens

The Mays Family Institute on Diverse Philanthropy hosted Rajiv Shah, President of The Rockefeller Foundation, who discussed his book, Big Bets: How Large-Scale Change Really Happens. Shah shared stories that can help leaders everywhere, and at every level, reimagine what’s possible. Discussing his experience from his own career, the 110-year history of the Foundation, and leaders as well as unsung heroes around the world—Shah revealed it is realistic to be optimistic about our capacity to make large-scale change.

Dr. Shah serves as President of The Rockefeller Foundation, a global institution with a mission to promote the well-being of humanity around the world. He is a former American government official, physician and health economist who served as the USAID Administrator during the Obama Administration. Dr. Shah reshaped the $20 billion agency’s operations in more than 70 countries around the world by elevating the role of innovation, creating high-impact public-private partnerships, and focusing U.S. investments to deliver stronger results.
