Monique Libby is currently the Deputy Director of Digital Library Services at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). She has a MLIS from the University of Maryland iSchool, specializing in Archives and Digital Curation and was an ARL Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce (IRDW) 2015-2017 Scholar and 2016 ALA Spectrum Scholar. Additionally, she holds a BA in History from St. Thomas Aquinas College and a MA in American and Modern Asian History from Fordham University. In her previous academic career, Monique was an adjunct History professor at St. Thomas Aquinas College, and an Editorial Assistant for the Papers of John Jay at Columbia University’s Rare Books and Manuscripts Library. She also worked as an Archives Technician for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) with the NARA/Ancestry.com Digitization Partnership Project. Before joining the staff at CFR, she was a Digital Library Technician at Smithsonian Libraries in Washington, DC, where she provided support service for their digital library and digitization projects. Monique’s professional interests are digital libraries, digitization, open access, linked data, digital preservation, and web development. She seeks to bridge the gap between users and information by guiding them through technology.
