How to create meaningful learning experiences in the age of GenAI

Here is a situation:  In the era of generative AI, I am developing a master’s level course without a traditional textbook.  How can I leverage GenAI to prepare an engaging and meaningful learning experience for my students? 

The answer:  WISER prompting framework. 

WISER framework has been used to improve human-AI interaction and to enhance the effectiveness of AI systems in numerous fields. I applied Who, Instruction, Sub-task, Examples, and Review prompting framework to design a course that was effective and engaging. In this presentation, I will detail how I used WISER prompting framework and leveraged GenAI to create content, assignments, and rubrics. I will cover the importance of content knowledge and emphasize the notion that AI cannot replace signature relationships, support strong sense of community, and model collaborative behavior.
