LIFT-MC session: Your Scholarly Impact: Using Metrics to Connect the Dots

Your digital identity as a scholar is just one facet of your scholarly identity. You are more than your publications, presentations, and grants. At the same time, there are too many profile companies, online accounts, and scholarly metrics tools for any single person to maintain. Where do you start? What’s worth the effort?

While scholarly products are a cornerstone of evaluation at IUPUI in most promotion and tenure cases, the evidence and the metrics that supports a case varies. Every scholar is unique. In this session, we will introduce a short list of scholarly profile tools and approaches that may be worth your effort. We also describe common publication metrics and core concepts in research metrics with the goal of helping you to put then into context in way that best demonstrates the impact of your scholarship. We will offer guidance to help you articulate connections between your intended outcomes as a scholar and available evidence.
