IT Community Partnerships, ITCP, serves the 1IUIT community through advocacy, communication, leveraging and training. ITCP endeavors to understand the challenges and concerns of IT professionals, provide clear and practical information on existing enterprise services, and convey feedback to UITS service providers on enhancing and improving services.
In our conversations with IT departments within schools' departments and units, we believe strongly that most IT challenges emerge from the three fundamental areas: resources, culture, and training. Each challenge impacts the other and are more often a mix of concerns around securing essential resources and technologies, the particular environment served by IT professionals, and the IT professional's ability to keep up-to-date with systems, platforms, and policy. ITCPs charge rests on communication and in particular managing and distributing mailings that impact the work of IT professionals across all of Indiana University. Included in ITCPs mission to communicate important, timely, and often critical information are info-shares and water-cooler events that target changes, exiting technologies or process new technologies or overviews of existing services, three to four IT professional orientations each year conveying a broad but practical overview of IT services, support, and systems at IU and outreach with individual units, departments, and schools.
ITCP also oversees the development and administration of the IT Pro database and the software and services selection process also known as SSSP. And ITCP leads sustainable IT efforts across the University looking for ways in which efficiencies can be increased while waste and our environmental impact is lessened.
