We often know what we want our students to do and how they should do it, but do we consider why? And it's not just "because the college wants us to" or "because this has worked in the past." There is a passion, a purpose, for what we do when we create an assignment or when we develop an entire course outline. We can use ideas from Simon Sinek's book “Start with Why” to find that purpose and share that with students to get them excited about learning in our classes.
