Delin Guo discusses her experience interning for the the Mumias Sugar Company in Kenya. It is the biggest sugar company in Kenya and has been making significant efforts to reach out to the farmers that supply it, including help with farming practices, healthcare, and even education for the farmers' children. Guo, a graduate student at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, worked on a survey of the farmers in which she interviewed them about these services and Mumias generally. The methods Mumias used for the survey had to be adjusted to account for possible bias in survey populations or reluctance in those being surveyed. They gained valuable information on the thoughts the farmers had on the company. *This video was recorded as a part of the Indiana University CIBER Focus Vodcast Series.
