On November 15, 2021, the Indiana University Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases hosted a special event, "World Diabetes Day & 100 Years of Insulin."

The program featured a presentation from Dr. Ruth E. Gimeno, Vice President of Diabetes Research and Clinical Investigation at Eli Lilly and Company, followed by a discussion with Dr. Gimeno and Michael Weiss, MD, PhD; Emily Sims, MD; and Linda DiMeglio, MD; moderated by Carmella Evans-Molina, MD, PhD, and Li Zhang, PhD.
