This session is presented by Patsy Sellars, MSW, Managing Director of Field Offices for Casey Family Programs in Child and Family Services. In this presentation, Ms. Sellars describes the impact of adverse
childhood experiences (ACEs) on the developing nervous system, which has gained much
attention of late, particularly related to adult health outcomes. The
underlying neural development related to ACEs will be explored, along with
developmental models that support healing and maturation. Such an approach both
requires and benefits community, strengthening the likelihood of an
interconnected, supportive environment for the future.
