For the last nine years, Jen Jumba has worked in public libraries, most recently as Head of the Adult Department at a branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library. Jen has created and led various initiatives from maker programs to culinary programs and an Entrepreneur Series. She also is responsible for organizing, hosting, and moderating many virtual and in-person author visits.
In addition to working as a librarian, Jen is also on faculty at San Jose State University’s iSchool. She designed and teaches two courses: Web 2.0 Technologies and Social Media and Crisis Management Scenarios: The Expanding Role of the Information Professional. Along with Dr. Sue Alman, Jen co-taught a Massive Open Online Course: The Emerging Future and then published a book with Dr. Alman, MOOCs now: everything you need to know to design, set up, and run a massive open online course.
Jen received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and her Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Certificate from Case Western Reserve University. She is also on the Continuing Education committee for the Public Library Association and a member of the American Library Association.
