Nathaniel Smith
Librarian, North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
Nathaniel Smith has been the librarian for the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation since 2021, and has managed libraries within the department since 2016. He currently oversees all facets of library operations for four of the system’s five facilities and provides technical assistance to the agency on all matters related to library services. He also administers law library services for the Department and has served as a Civics instructor within the NDSP GED program. Smith received his Master of Library Science from the IU School of Library and Information Science at IUPUI in 2013. He also holds a graduate certificate in business administration from the University of Washington in Seattle and both Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
