Allison
Rand is an Instructional Design Librarian and subject liaison to the
School of Communications at Illinois State University. She has
previously worked in instruction, outreach, and reference. Allison
received her BA from Emerson College and her MSLIS from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Allison’s work focuses on
accessibility, mental health, and student engagement. She has written,
spoken, and tweeted extensively about the LIS job market, and continues
to engage in conversations about improving the job search experience for
new graduates. In her free time, Allison enjoys gardening, cooking, and
