Veterans programming looking at transitional stress for post 9/11 veterans are essential in addressing feelings of disconnection, isolation, safety needs, and tension during the reintegration period. The needs of the population have included access to sustainable programs that address reintegration difficulties which include income stability, career development, family services, mental health services, and transportation. This literature review also provides an understanding of current programs available, the underutilization or nonuse of available programs, and addresses the need for sustainable programming tailored specifically to post-9/11 veterans transitioning out of the military. Looking at the prevalence of program nonuse, underutilization, or unavailability led to a need in making information easily accessible through a resource list of available programs currently in process. A literature review was completed using a thematic analysis to not only look at concerns but to produce results that reflect available programs both on a regional and national level.
