Dr. M. Beth Borst is a practitioner-scholar whose journey from adjunct instructor to community college senior administrator provides a unique lens on higher education. Her expertise is further strengthened by research focused on the vital role of community colleges. Join us for this presentation around Dr. Borst's own professional journey which has been shaped by learning, determination, and an unwavering sense of hope for student success.
Dr. M. Beth Borst is Statewide Dean of the Honors College & Transfer Initiatives at Ivy Tech Community College in the Office of the Provost. She also holds the rank of Professor where she specializes in Leadership and continues to teach at Ivy Tech and in a part-time capacity at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
She holds a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University Bloomington, and an M.A. in Adult and Community Education as well as an Ed.D. in Adult, Higher, and Community Education from Ball State University.
Her research interests include collegiate honors programs and pedagogy, adult learning, student transfer success, and gender and leadership. She is co-author of the book “Community College is College: A Resource for High-Achieving Learners.” (Prufrock/Rutledge · Oct 17, 2024).
