Maximizing the Space: Integrating Image-Sharing Technology with Whiteboards and other Active-Learning Classroom Features to Enhance Student Engagement & Learning
Past studies reveal that student-student and student-faculty interaction is important for learning. Fostering such interaction depends not only on pedagogical design but also classroom space. As D. Christopher Brooks (2011) points out, technology-enhanced classrooms can increase student learning when integrated with active-learning pedagogy. As technology and classroom design features expand, what are some ways these can be effectively combined with active-learning pedagogy to promote learning and interaction? How can such strategies be adapted to different classroom spaces? This webinar addresses these and other questions. In particular, this webinar features image-sharing projection software. This emerging classroom technology allows students to project images from their electronic devices to screens. The webinar will illustrate how image-sharing technology can be used in tandem with whiteboards and personal response systems to increase participation in active and collaborative learning exercises. Tips for instructors will be shared for using and combining active-learning technology and how to increase the potential of their classroom spaces.
