Wonder. Excitement. Surprise. Joy. Love. These
universal human experiences contribute to a fuller life on their own, but there
is evidence that they also provide an impetus to deeper learning in the field
of environmentalism. Combining classic environmental studies commentary from
Aldo Leopold and Rachel Carson, with theories of play-based education, and
direct observations from my own senior-level environmental ethics course at
Bellarmine University, this presentation will seek to advocate for fostering a "sense
of wonder" in undergraduate students
